Stars Sweep Weekday Series Over Crush with 10-5 win

Friday night we had the White River Cobras take on the Ozark Mountain Wild in a battle for second place. The Cobras had Kansas State right hander Luke Hauswirth and the Wild started Southwest Tennessee Community College lefty Joel Singleton.
Both pitchers held the game close until the 7th with the Cobras holding a 2-run lead with the score 3-1 in favor of the Cobras. Singleton threw 4.2 innings giving up 3 earned runs and seven strikeouts. Peak Performance player of the game, Hauswirth threw 6 innings giving up 1 earned run and 5 strikeouts. The 7th and 8th innings where win the Cobras broke the game open scoring 3 runs and 1 run respectively.
The Wild had 5 players with one hit a piece and the Cobras had six players with one hit a piece led by Ryan Kouba with 2 RBI’s and Blake Lutgen with 3 RBI’s.
The Cobras swept the weekday series and now sit at 6-4-2 and the Wild are now at 5 wins and 6 losses.
For the week of June 18th, the Wild will play a four game series against the first place Stars and the Cobras will take on the Queen City Crush.
