Stars win in Fourth of July walkoff

The Route 66 Stars had five players with two hits apiece led by Player of the Game, Collin Fraley. Fraley was two for five with three RBI and is now hitting .436 on the year. Jamie Mitchell, Mason Melton, Cameron Tissue, and Brett Daley also had two hits apiece. Justin Root started for the Stars and threw 5 great innings allowing only one run on five hits and three strikeouts. Logan Thomazin, Jakob Henry, and Collin Fraley finished off the final four innings. With the win, Root improved his record to 3-1 on the summer.
The Crush had two players with two hits apiece and Brian Amantia was one for three with a triple and three RBI. Baylor Hinz toed the rubber for the Crush and in 4.2 innings gave up seven hits and four earned runs. Baylor took the loss and fell to 1-4 on the summer.
The Crush will look to get back on track on Tuesday as they face the White River Cobras in a Tuesday double header matchup.
The first place Stars will look to continue their hot streak as the take on the Ozark Mountain Wild in a four game, weekday series tilt.
