Monday nights game featured the White River Cobras versus the Route 66 Stars as they battled to see who could finish out the week long series with a win. 
The Route 66 Stars had reigning pitcher of the week, Justin Root on the mound. The White River Cobras countered with recent Missouri State signee, Forrest Barnes.


The game itself was a closely contested affair as both pitching staff‘s kept each team at bay through five innings as the score was tied 2 to 2. In the bottom of the sixth, after Derek Hackman was hit by a pitch, Cameron Tissue double to right field to put runners at second and third. With one out and a 0-2 count, Peak Performance Player of the Game Connor Poulson lined a single up the middle past the drawn in infield which drove in two runs. The Stars would add 1 more run in the eighth to close out the game with a 5-2 win. 


The Stars were led offensively by Cherokee Boynton who was 2-4 with a double, 1 run, 1 RBI, and 2 stolen bases, Cameron Tissue who was 1-3 with a double and two runs, and Peak Performance Player of the Game Connor Poulson was 1-3 with 2 RBI’s and 1 stolen base. The Stars pitchers of Justin Root, Colby Eckhoff, Alden Blest, and Collin Fraley combined for 11 strikeouts on the night. 
The Cobras were led by Blake Lutgen (2-5 with 2 runs), Logan Berlof (2-2, 1 RBI, 2 walks), Danny Crews (2-4), and Forrest Barnes with 5 innings pitched, 3 hits, and 6 strikeouts. 
The Stars battle the Queen City Crush this week as the Cobras will take on the Ozark Mountain Wild as the third week of Show Me Collegiate League starts up.
