Cobras pitcher Ryan Czanstkowski struck out eight Stars in six innings on the mound as the Cobras shut out the Stars 5-0, on Wednesday night at U.S. Baseball Park in Ozark.

Czanstkowski, the Connors State College ace, gave up just two hits and two walks on the night and lowered his ERA to an incredible 1.57. He has now allowed just sixteen hits in 23 innings pitched on the year, striking out fifteen batters in the process.

Cobras leadoff hitter and center fielder Mason Janvrin, a standout at the University of Central Missouri, remains on a tear at the plate. With three more hits in his four at-bats, he is now hitting an unbelievable .467 for the season. Janvrin scored three runs on the night, being driven home twice by catcher Hunter Hisky (Southwest Baptist), who went 2-for-4 to lift his average to .383.

The Stars struggled offensively all night long. Local product Ryan Skalnik, who plays his college ball at nearby Missouri State, had two of his team's three hits.

League action continues Thursday night, as the Wild and Villains square off at 7:10 pm. The Show-Me Collegiate League, now in its second year, is a wood-bat league featuring college players from coast to coast.

Tickets are available at the gate at $7, with a $2 discount available for kids 12 and under, senior citizens 60 and older and all active and retired military members.
