The Merchants/Seals have signed a handful of players from Seminole State (Oklahoma) - one of the most powerful junior college programs in the nation. The Trojans are currently 23-6 and are ranked amongst the top 15 junior colleges in the country. They are flaunting a team batting average of .402 and lead the nation in home runs (79) and are third in the nation in runs scored (374) and RBI (340). Their pitching staff averages 10.85 K's per nine innings (good for 4th in the nation).

Sophomore RHP Ian Hardman - Ian is a transfer from Diablo Valley College in Pleasant Hill. A native of Antioch, CA - He is a big 6'3" relief pitcher who sits 88-92 and is currently the closer for Coach Lloyd Simmons. He will be a strong bullpen presence for the Merchants/Seals this coming summer.

Redshirt Freshman LHP Trey Jeans - Trey is a transfer from Louisiana-Lafayette, one of the highest ranked Division 1 schools in the nation. After suffering an arm injury his freshman year where he had to have Tommy John surgery, Jeans is back at full strength and pitching well as a starter for the Trojans. In 6 starts, he is 4-0 with 21 K's in 23 innings pitched. The crafty left hander has an array of pitches that he can throw with good command. Assistant Coach Dan Mills compares Jeans to former Merchant ace Peter Nyznyk (2013-2015).

Sophomore RHP Javon Rigsby - Rigsby, a native of Texarkana, Texas, was one of Seminole's top starters last season. Out of high school, Rigsby was recruited by Louisiana Tech, Houston, University of Texas and Dallas Baptist. He came to Seminole and had an outstanding freshman year, where he was 6-3 with a 2.65 ERA and 72 strikeouts in 68 innings pitched. He started the Region 2 championship game for the Trojans and touched 95 mph as a freshman. After some nagging arm issues, he has seen limited action as a sophomore. The Merchants are hoping he is back to his old self once the summer rolls around.

Sophomore INF Julio Gonzalez - Julio is a native of Puerto Rico and is currently the leadoff hitter and starting shortstop for the Trojans. He is batting .330 with 26 RBI's and 37 runs scored. He has recieved serious interests from schools such as Auburn and the University of Oklahoma.

Sophomore C Dakota Robbins - Robbins is a native of Miami, Florida & is a transfer from Auburn University. He is currently batting .339 with 27 RBI and 18 runs scored. He is swinging the bat with a little bit of pop - adding 7 HR's to his resume.

Sophomore 1B JP Soriano - Soriano is a native of Arroyo, Puerto Rico who is taking a year off after a stellar sophomore season at Seminole where he batted .272 with 11 HR's, 23 RBI's and 29 runs scored on a Trojans team that was two games shy of the NJCAA World Series. In the fall, he is slated to go to Arkansas-Pine Bluff (the alma mater of current assistant coach Isias Alcantar).

The Merchants/Seals are happy to have these quality players on board for this summer. Best of luck to them the rest of the season!!

See you guys after you make the trip to Grand Junction!!!
