In their 43rd and final game of the summer, the Merchants just ran out of gas.

Already having clinched the Golden State Collegiate Baseball League regular season championship, Top Speed overwhelmed Alameda in their final game by a score of 11-0.

Eric Gleese kept the Alameda Merchants (23-20) off the board during his seven innings of work. The University of Hawaii pitcher allowed five hits, two walks and struck out six.

Six runs in the first three innings helped the Top Speed Baseball defeat the Alameda Merchants. An RBI double by Chris Miguel, an RBI single by Sam Davison, and an error during the first inning and a solo home run by Ricky Rodriguez, a solo home run by Steven Knudson, and a solo home run by Chris Miguel in the second inning fueled Top Speed Baseball's offense early.

Chris Miguel racked up three RBIs on four hits for the Top Speed Baseball.

Dino Landucci couldn't get it done on the hill for the Alameda Merchants, taking a loss. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked none, struck out one, and allowed five runs.

Both Shane Timmons (San Jose State) and CJ Jacobe (Santa Clara) went 2 for 3 on the day, but was not enough for the Merchants to mount a comeback against Top Speed.
