Indiana survives Morgantown comeback, wins 5-4

Morgantown tried to dig itself out of a five-goal hole, but Indiana held on for a 5-4 victory.

A goal by Thomas Petro put Indiana up 5-0 in the second period, but Morgantown pulled to within one on Cullen Gookin's tally 8:10 into the third period.

With three goals and three assists between them, Petro and Dominick Glavach teamed up to power Indiana's offense. Petro registered two goals and one assist and Glavach also notched one goal and two assists.

Indiana's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on seven Morgantown power plays. Indiana forced Morgantown goalie Aimee Feight to work between the pipes, taking 41 shots. Indiana got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

Indiana additionally got points from Glavach, who also racked up one goal and two assists and Tyler Barker, who also had two goals and one assist. More assists for Indiana came via Matthew Swatsworth and Ethan Boyer, who each chipped in one.

Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with three goals.

Morgantown also got points from Garett Heubsch, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Nate Frisbee also scored for Morgantown. Other players who recorded assists for Morgantown were Dwight (Trey) Hanshew, who had one.

Zane McElheny made 19 saves for Indiana on 23 shots. Indiana incurred 24 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Morgantown's Feight stopped 36 shots out of the 41 that he faced. Morgantown incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
