Brendan Johns netted a hat trick to lead Greater Latrobe over Penn-Trafford, 7-2.

Johns' first goal came 12:04 into the second period. He then added goals at nine seconds into the third and at 4:11 into the third.

Greater Latrobe forced Penn-Trafford's goaltenders to work between the pipes, finishing with 32 shots and forcing 25 saves. Alec Pevornik made 20 stops and Reno Patrick made five. Greater Latrobe put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Penn-Trafford to score on any of its three power plays.

Others who scored for Greater Latrobe included Cole Novak, who had two and Ryan Defelice and Jared Schimizzi, who each put in one. In addition, Greater Latrobe received assists from Daniel Johnson, who had three and Evan Clarke-Deaver and Jack Schultheis, who each chipped in one.

Penn-Trafford was led by Jesse Cox, who tallied one goal. Cox scored short handed 16:43 into the second period to make the score 4-2 Greater Latrobe. Penn-Trafford played down a man on Matthew Simkovic's interference. Benjamin Lasich also scored for Penn-Trafford. More assists for Penn-Trafford came via Brady Geyer, who had one.

Greater Latrobe's Ryan Pal stopped 27 shots out of the 29 that he faced. Greater Latrobe incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Penn-Trafford ended with 23 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major. For Penn-Trafford, Justin Proskin was ejected from the game.
