Mike Benson kept the Matsu Miners (0-1) off the board during his six innings of work and the Alaska Goldpanners (1-0) beat the Matsu Miners, 14-0.

Benson allowed six hits, two walks and struck out five.

The Alaska Goldpanners didn't let up, as they kept racking up runs until the end. The Alaska Goldpanners scored four runs in the final three innings to cap the blowout win. The Alaska Goldpanners scored seven runs in the third on the Alaska Goldpanners scored in the third on an RBI double by Scott Hurst, a two-run double by Vahn Bozoian, an RBI single by Tanner Pinkston, an RBI single by Jacob Hayes, and a two-run double by Hunter Villanueva.

Eric Hutting was solid at the plate for the Alaska Goldpanners. Hutting went 3-5, drove in one and scored three runs. He doubled in the fifth innings and singled in the third and seventh innings.

Tyler Stubblefield (0-1) took the loss for the Matsu Miners. He allowed seven runs in 2 2/3 innings, walked one and struck out one.

The Alaska Goldpanners pounded the Matsu Miners pitching, as seven hitters combined for 19 hits, 10 RBIs and 12 runs scored.
