A superb effort by Mitchell Nau spurred the Matsu Miners (26-14) to an 8-4 win in seven innings over the Anchorage Bucs (26-18) on Sunday at Hermon Brothers Field.
Nau hit two home runs for the Matsu Miners. Nau went 2-3 in the game with four RBIs and two runs scored. Nau homered in the second and fourth innings.
Hunter Rodriguez put together a nice outing. Rodriguez held the Anchorage Bucs hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out none.
Mark Krueger racked up three RBIs on one hit for the Anchorage Bucs. He homered in the third inning.
Evan Manarino was charged with his fourth loss of the year. He allowed seven runs in 4 2/3 innings, walked two and struck out six.
