After coming off a 9-4 loss to Tennyson two weeks ago, Holland looked to find redemption. Also, a huge three points were needed from the weekend to remain competitive in the playoff race. On Saturday night, hot tempers boiled over in one of the most exciting games of the year for the Bandits. Neither team would give an inch, sending the game into overtime. This would have been the first win the Bandits would have over Tennyson.
An early goal by Bryce Stenstrom, assisted by Parker Michels, on the power play would give the Bandits a huge momentum push. During one of the Bandits' 12 power play chances, a shorthanded breakaway would be given up, knotting the game at one. Riley Clark would try to spark his team with a late first period fight for the team. Each team would go straight at each other, hitting harder, and bad blood would come back from past games.
Cam Fisher would net a power play goal, assisted by Stenstrom and Michels, and give his team a one goal advantage eight minutes into the second. Tennyson would take over momentum in the second, scoring three straight goals to take a 4-2 lead. Bandits' captain Alex Devries would capitalize on a power play chance, bringing the game within one. Late in the second, Bandits' tough guys Fisher and Stenstrom would spark their team with Fisher bumping Tennyson's goalie, resulting in Stenstrom taking care of business in a fight. However, would result in a seven minute power play for Tennyson, but the Bandits killed it off by strong defense and goaltending by John Posler. The Bandits would be out shot 33 to six in the second.
Early in the third, Fisher would snipe Tennyson’s goaltender, assisted by Stenstrom, tying the game at four each. Only three minutes later, Tennyson would take back the lead. Stenstrom would not let this game slip away, scoring his second of the game to tie the game, sending it into overtime.
The Bandits would get their biggest chance of the game as they would receive a powerplay opportunity at the beginning of the overtime period. A terrible off sides call would cost them their best chance of the entire game on a "two on one" against Tennyson. After the penalty time would expire, Tennyson would capitalize on a breakaway rebound. This would end the game with a loss, but the Bandits would pick a much needed point.
