Although Cam Fisher would record his second hat trick of the year, it would not be enough to overcome the Wisconsin team. The Bandits would jump out to a early 1-0 lead in the first period with Cam’s first goal of the game. Abram Prince would add to the tally 5 minutes later, making the score 2-0. This would make the crowd believe they were off to an early rout of this talented Wisconsin team. However, the Cats would answer back with 4 minutes left in the first. Trevor Teglia would turn aside ten of eleven shots in the first period.
The second period would change the tide of the game, as Rhinelander would score two quick goals at 47 seconds and 1:03. Both goals were buried by Devan Vander Wyk. This would put the Bandits in a 3-2 hole. Five minutes later, another Rhinelander goal would be scored by Dylan Kirkly, making the deficit 4-2. The Bandits would not be put down, as their point leaders Bryce Stenstrom and Cam Fisher would bring their team back to tie the game. Rhinelander would tally two more goals, giving them a 6-4 lead. Cam Fisher would score his hat trick goal to bring his team within one before the end of the second period.
The third would be the closest period of all. Only 3 penalties would be called, making the action move faster and have a higher tempo. A goal scored at the 10 minute mark of the third by Harry Braafhart would tie the game, making it a thriller. Only two minutes later, however, the lights would be put out by the Cats’ Peter Carlin, making the score 7-6. The Bandits could not pull one more goal from their pocket. This would be the final of the day, but they would find a way the next day to earn the W.
