A slow start by the Bandits led to the team falling behind by two goals early in the first period. The Lightning’s lone power play goal would be scored only 3 minutes into the game. The goal was scored by Alex Kerbs. Only 40 seconds later, another goal would be added to the Lightning’s lead by Andrew Defauw. They Bandits knew what they needed to do to bring themselves back into the game. Bandits forward Riley Clark would have his second fight of the season to try to re-establish his team’s momentum. It would take 16 minutes into the first before Alex Carson would net one for the Bandits on the power play. This goal would be assisted by Tyler Teglia and Trevor McCoy.
Only 1 minute into the second, a quick tally by Abram Prince would knot the game at two. Both teams would take a slough of penalties in the second, although neither team would be able to score on their chances. Ten minutes after Prince’s goal, Alexander Devries would give the Bandits their first lead of the game. Only 5 mintes later, Devries would put home his second goal of the night, extending the Bandit’s lead to two.
The third would be the most exciting period of the game. The Lightning would get one of the goals back to come within one. Both teams would hit and bang, trying to get the momentum to take the game. The Lightning would pull their goalie to try to tie it all up. Tyler Teglia had another idea for the game, scoring on the empty net. The Lightning, however, would score with 4 seconds left in the game to bring themselves within one. However, it would not be enough. The Bandits would secure their 4th win in a row.
