In Game 1 of a doubleheader for the South Shore Clippers against the Shelter Island Bucks, Conor Burns (St. John’s) and Dean Ennis (Utica) threw the third no-hitter in the HCBL in the 2025 season and the first in eight seasons of history for the South Shore Clippers. Burns and Ennis combined for a five-inning mercy rule no-hitter as the Clippers took Game 1 from Shelter Island by a score of 10-0.

Burns went the first four innings, striking out three batters and allowing three walks. Ennis would take over in the fifth with the Clippers up 10-0 and would pitch a 1-2-3 fifth, giving the Clippers their first no-hitter in franchise history.

South Shore struck early in the first game, scoring five runs in the top of the first, highlighted by a three-run home run from Anthony Armenia (Bridgeport).

The Clippers would add a pair of runs in the second and third innings and would get their tenth run in the top of the fifth on a solo home run by Michael Prisco (Albany).

Armenia finished the day with four RBI, having added another RBI in the third inning on an RBI double. Burns, who got the win, improved his record on the season to 3-2.

On June 19th at the Montauk Classic, Trey Zaffiro (Lafayette) of Sag Harbor pitched a five-inning no-hitter in the Whalers' 11-0 win over the Bucks. Eight days later, on June 27th, Sag Harbor pitched their second no-hitter of the season on a combined no-hitter from Everett Garber (Bucknell), Declan Semler (Stetson), and Ethan Righter (Hamilton) in a 4-0 Whalers win over Westhampton.

The Bucks would take the nightcap of the doubleheader with a 5-2 win over the Clippers in Game 2.

Both teams traded runs in the third inning. South Shore broke a scoreless tie in the top of the third on a sacrifice fly from Prisco, North Fork then tied the game on an RBI single from Tommy Munch (Occidental).

Shelter Island would take the lead in the fourth inning, scoring two runs on RBI from Gibby Sullivan (Bates) and Billy Fluharty (Bucknell). Sullivan would drive in two more runs in the fifth on a base hit. Sullivan finished with three RBI in Game 2.

Prisco would bring in another run for the Clippers in the seventh on his second sacrifice fly of the game, but Brennan Shapiro (Babson) would finish out the inning as he pitched a complete game, going all seven innings. Shapiro picked up his third win of the season and struck out three while allowing just two walks.
