2024 Week 3 Recap

Welcome back to the Week 3 CCBC recap.
 
We first go off to the series of the week which is the UFV Cascades taking on the VIU Mariners. In game 1, the Cascades won 8-4. Mason Chien from UFV threw 6 innings, allowing 7 hits with 3ER, striking out 9 in a big game 1 win for UFV. UFV’s Setticasi drove in 3 runs, Renneberg had 5 RBI’s and Quintana had 2RBS to lead UFV to the win. In game 2 of the series UFV got a offensive explosion scoring 16 runs and had a quality 6 innings from Blake Badger, who only gave up 2 runs with 6Ks. Heading into Sundays game 3 VIU was looking to get back in the win collum and they did just that winning a game 3 pitchers dual 2-1. VIU pitcher Graham Stephen went 8 innings with 1 ER and 4Ks giving VIU a much needed win. In game 4 UFV took the series win winning 2-1 in another pitchers dual. UFV now sits at 7-5 on the season heading into week 4 while VIU is now 5-7.
 
Now we are off to the other side of the Island where the Wolfpack came into town to take on the Golden tide. Game 1 was a 1-0 win for the Wolfpack. This game had some amazing pitching performances on both sides. The Golden Tide had a excellent start from Jeff Pacholko going 8 innings with 0ER and 5Ks but Zach Robinson of TRU went 7 innings with 0ER and 5Ks and came out with the win. Game 2 was a high scoring win for TRU winning 10-4. TRU used 5 pitchers in the win but a good 5 innings came from Jacob fillion with 5Ks. Game 3 was the same story, TRU took the game 5-3. In game 4 the Wolf Pack kept the good times going with a convincing 12-4 win to cap off the 4 game sweep. TRU now sits in first place after week 3 at 9-3 while the Golden tide sit at 2-9 at the bottom of the standings.
 
Now we go up to Kelowna where the Coyotes took on the Dinos in a big 4 game set for both teams. In game 1, it was all the Yotes winning 8-0. Corey Lawson had great game going 7 innings with 0ER and 10Ks, while Kawaguchi, Orioli, Kovaceivic and Gabruck brought the fire power driving in the Yotes runs. In game 2 the Yotes kept the good pitching going as they won 4-0. Teagan Ribbink went 8 innings with 0ER, only allowing 4 hits with 9Ks. Game 3 was a high scoring game but the Yotes again came on top winning 11-7. Corbin Mossip went 6 innings in relief for the Yotes with 0ER and 3KS. 6 Yotes had RBI’s in the game. Game 4 finally went the Dinos way winning 6-2. Jaden wielders went 6 innings with 0ER and 7Ks. The Coyotes sit in second place with a 8-4 record, while the Dinos fell to 2-6.
 
Now off to Alberta for the final series where the Dawgs played the Hawks. Game 1 was a win for the dawgs, 5-4. Matt Wright ended up getting the win for the Dawgs going 2 innings with 0ER and 2Ks in a very good game. In game 2 the Dawgs won again with the final score being 14-5. Jake Maniago went 6.2 innings allowing 4 hits, 3ER and had 6 strikeouts. In game 3 the Hawks got back into the win column winning 6-2. The final game saw the Dawgs win a very close and high scoring game 11-10. The Dawgs now are 5-3 on the season and the Hawks are now 6-6.
