The Oswego ACHA Division I Hockey Team is seeking applicants to be the team’s next head coach. Candidates should be eager to lead the organization both on and off the ice while upholding the standards set by the team, university, conference, and ACHA. Candidates are expected to build on the club’s winning mentality, which has become an expectation in recent years and included a trip to the NECHL Finals in 2019-2020 (the last season played prior to the cancellation of 2020-2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic).

Beyond the on-ice responsibilities, candidates are preferred to have experience in hockey operations; which may include building game schedules, overseeing the budget process, recruiting future players, and showing a commitment to student-athlete welfare.

Other responsibilities and expectations will include the following: planning and implementing game strategies for demonstration at practices and competitions, planning and organizing team practices, providing skill development and teamwork among student athletes; promoting and upholding University and Department policies and procedures; ensuring compliance with ACHA, NECHL, Club Sports Handbook and University regulations; conducting post-event evaluations and recommend future improvements; and demonstrating strong and effective communication skills.

This is a paid position.
