Lakers Head Coach, Travis Hyde, announced Wednesday afternoon that 2004 Forward, Jeremy Keyes (Camillus, NY) has committed to attend Oswego University and play D1 ACHA Club hockey for the 2022-2023 season. Keyes will add offensive depth, situational play, and tremendous leadership experience to the lineup.

Keyes, a two year captain for West Genesee,  helped lead the program to a Section 3 and Regional Championship in 2022 before falling in the High School Division 1 State Championship this March. Keyes finished third in points and second in goals (25G, 26A, 51pts) while finishing above the 100 point total in his tenure (62G, 50A, 112A). At 6'1 and 175lbs, Keyes  has an offensive touch that mixes with the ability to systematically play a defensive minded game that will translate well at the college level. "The hockey program and coaching staff are top notch for my needs. Accompanied by a business department that is highly reputable, I am expecting Oswego to be a great college experience for my next four years all around." Keyes intends to study Business Administration while at Oswego.

Coach Hyde had this to say on the commitment: "Keyes is fantastic person from a great family and I am ecstatic to bring him on. His success at a well-reputable program like West Genesee is a testament to his ability to play at the next level. I have heard nothing but positive comments from his previous coaches. The kid can bring it every day and is a true lead by example type of player. I can't wait to see the immediate impact he will have in all avenues."

The Lakers are set to host to release their schedule in the next few weeks. Be sure to stay updated on all social media platforms @OswegoACHA (Instagram, Twitter, Facebook).
