Earlier this month the Oswego State ACHA program issued a statement regarding the upcoming 2020-21 season that was scheduled to begin in September. The Lakers have been working with the ACHA, NECHL, SUNY Oswego, and the Campus Life Department to develop a plan for next season in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Below is the full statement.

We regret to inform you that, as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Campus Life Department at SUNY Oswego has cancelled all club sport competitions, practices, and group activities for the Fall 2020 semester.

The Oswego State ACHA Men’s Hockey Team plans to play a condensed season that will take place from January 2021 – April 2021 but we are awaiting further direction from SUNY Oswego and the state of New York.

To accommodate, the American Collegiate Hockey Association has pushed back the 2021 National Tournament to April 15-20, 2021 and has proposed to lift the minimum game requirement in order to qualify.

We hope to get back on the ice as soon as possible to begin to prepare for the 2021 season but will do so with the health and safety of our student athletes and staff in mind. We look forward to the 2021 season.
