Oswego wraps up their regular season this weekend with 2 pivotal conference matchups. Tonight the Lakers take on the 5th place RIT Tigers (14-7-3, 6-3-2) and on Sunday afternoon Oswego finally returns home to the Campus Center take on the Canisius College Golden Griffins (15-9-3, 7-4-1).

Tonight the Lakers travel to Rochester, NY to take on the RIT Tigers at the Frank Ritter Arena. The Tigers find themselves in 5th place but are just 3 points (or 1 win) behind Oswego for 2nd with 2 games in hand. Following tonight’s action RIT will wrap up their conference schedule this weekend with 2 more home games against Cornell on Saturday and Cortland on Sunday. Oswego edged the Tigers 3-2 in overtime in the final weekend before the holiday break earlier this season. RIT is coming off a 6-4 win against Canisius last Saturday.

On Sunday the Lakers wrap up their lengthy 9 game road swing and return to the Campus Center Ice Arena for an afternoon showdown with Canisius College. Oswego will be honor their 4 seniors throughout the contest on Sunday. Ryan Schirano (Goaltender | Spencerport, NY), Shawn O’Neill (Forward | Ciciero, NY), Luke Myers (Forward | New City, NY), and Dan Perepezko (Goaltender | Deer Park, NY) are all set to play in their final ACHA game at the Campus Center. The Lakers will look to revenge their 4-1 loss against Canisius College that took place on the road in late January.

Although Oswego has locked up a spot in the 2020 NECHL playoffs their seeding is still very much up in the air. The Lakers can finish as high as 2nd place in the conference but can also finish as low as 5th. The good news is that is the Lakers do have control of their own destiny – meaning that if Oswego were to win their final 2 games they would be guaranteed a 2nd place finish and a bye in round 1 of the NECHL playoffs come February 28th.

Sunday’s home game starts at 3PM and is free to the public. The game will also be broadcasted live on the team’s YouTube channel. The Senior Day ceremony will take place directly following the game.
