Eagles Enter Spring Semester With Historic Ambitions

Date:  Source: Embry Riddle Eagles

With the Spring Semester’s arrival on Wednesday, your Ice Eagles too return to the ice this week to prepare for perhaps the most critical stretch of the season. Riddle enters 2019 with a 6-9-1-2 record, impressive considering the high-caliber teams they have played thus far, and sit 12th in the ACHA Division III South, their highest ranking ever. An excellent season thus far has bestowed upon Riddle an opportunity to do what has never been done in the team’s 20-year history: Make the Regional Playoffs.

Standing in their way this weekend is the University of Miami, a fellow SCHC member who is also fighting to stay in the playoff picture and sit just one spot above the Eagles at 11th in the South (the final playoff spot as well). Riddle opened their season this past September in Miami, dropping the first game 3-0 but rebounding the next day to win 5-2. These upcoming games in Daytona are critical to both teams’ chances at an invitation to Regionals in Huntsville this March.

Be sure to make your way down to Daytona Ice Arena this Friday at 8:30pm and Saturday at 4:30pm to see your Eagles in action! Follow your Ice Eagles on Instagram with the username erau.hockey and on Twitter with the handle @ERAUhockey
