Embry-Riddle Hockey 2022-2023 Schedule Released
Date: Jul 17, 2022

The Eagles exorcized their final demon this weekend against the University of Tampa Spartans. The final unbeaten SCHC team went down in dramatic fashion Friday Night at the Daytona Ice Arena in a 4-3 score favoring Riddle. This victory signifies the first time Riddle has defeated Tampa in recent history, and the final SCHC Team the Eagles have not beaten.
UTampa broke the ice first early to take a 1-0 lead, but Captain Ryan Marks answered the call with two goals along with Assistant Captain Alex Faller tallying a goal to put Riddle up 3-1. But the Spartans would not go quietly as they scored two goals in less than 2 minutes to tie the game with about 5 minutes to play in the 3rd period. However, an unsportsmanlike penalty taken after the tying goal would provide winger Kyle Usiak the opportunity to reclaim the lead for the Eagles, a lead they would hold on to for the remainder of the game. Nico Pruhliere played excellent between the pipes for Riddle, stopping 28 of 31 shots faced.
The Eagles would then travel to Tampa on Saturday and fall to the Spartans 5-2, splitting the weekend series and bringing their record to 7-5-0-1. The Eagles still remained in 2nd in the SCHC and await the first ACHA Rankings on November 15th.
The Eagles next game is this Friday, November 1st against Coastal Carolina University at 6:30pm at the Daytona Ice Arena. Tickets are $8 and as always, Pack the Barn Daytona!
