General Information:

Roster size is limited to 16 players at the Bantam Prep level, and a total of 38 players combined between junior and senior rosters. For example, 18 players at the junior team and 20 players have to senior team. Our goal is to identify the 54 players that will represent the UBC Thunder PBL organization for the 2019 season. Furthermore, all previous 2018 UBC Thunder players will have to re-tryout for the 2019 season.

We understand that this can be a stressful time for players and parents alike.  Please remember that while the goal of our program is to take the best players and prepare them rigorously to play in the Premier Baseball League for the UBC Thunder, we also want to provide an enjoyable experience for a group of talented players.

Every player should make effort to participate in all tryout sessions; this increases their exposure to the coaches and rationalizes the evaluation process and team’s selection. However, the organization realizes that players can get sick or injured, or may have other emergencies or conflicts that prevent them from participating in one or more tryout sessions.

If you know in advance that you have to miss one of the tryouts, if you are in grades 8 or 9 please make sure you notify Jeremy Newton (jeremy.newton@ubc.ca), if you are in grades 10,11 or 12 please contact Mitch Hodge (mitch.hodge@ubc.ca) ASAP.

At the conclusion of the Final day of the evaluation, the coaches will meet and start the selection process for each team. Announcement for each the team will be posted on our team website, www.ubcthunder.pointstreaksites.com by January 15th, 2019.
