The Hannibal Cavemen (12-43) built an early edge on Tuesday, but the Quincy Gems (26-30) roared back to steal a 10-2 victory at Clemens Field.
While the Hannibal Cavemen led until the fourth inning, the Quincy Gems worked their way back and took the lead on a sacrifice fly by Michael Nielsen.
The Quincy Gems blew out the Hannibal Cavemen thanks to 12 hits, including zero extra base hits. An RBI single by Houston Looser and a three-run home run by Joey Polak helped the Quincy Gems score four runs in the sixth. The Quincy Gems had three hits in the inning.
Looser had two extra-base hits for the Quincy Gems.
Cameron Sanders's nine strikeouts helped the Quincy Gems to the victory. Sanders allowed one earned run, two hits and two walks over six innings.
Austen Bullington was charged with his first loss of the year. He allowed nine runs in six innings, walked two and struck out one.
The Quincy Gems were sparked by Polak and Looser, who teamed up for four hits and five RBIs.
