The Carolina Vipers (25-15) beat the Lake Norman Copperheads (13-24) 7-5 in eight innings on Wednesday at Hough High School behind Bowe Behymer, who went 2-4 and hit a home run.

Eric Gilbert racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Lake Norman Copperheads. He homered in the second inning and singled in the third inning.

The Carolina Vipers had no answer for Scott Kobos, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Kobos held the Carolina Vipers hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out three.

Austin Wynn improved to 2-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Carolina Vipers. He allowed one run over two innings. He struck out one, walked none and surrendered one hit.

Devin Bagwell (2-3) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just one inning, walked one, struck out none, and allowed two runs.
