Seven first-inning runs helped the Lake Norman Copperheads (9-17) to a 7-5 win over the Concord Weavers (9-18) at Concord High School on Wednesday.
The Lake Norman Copperheads scored in the first on a sacrifice fly by Pierce Suttles, an RBI single by Scott Kobos, a two-run single by Tyler Baker, , and a two-run error.
Ryan Addington reached base two times in the game for the Lake Norman Copperheads. He scored one run and had one RBI.
Eric Whitecavage improved to 4-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Lake Norman Copperheads. He allowed three runs over six innings. Whitecavage struck out five, walked one and gave up nine hits.
Bradley Dzeskewicz couldn't get it done on the bump for the Concord Weavers, taking a loss. He allowed seven runs in four innings, walked six and struck out one.
