Date: Mar 29, 2018
The Westport Rideaus exploded for five goals in slightly more than 10 minutes in the second period to obliterate a 1-0 deficit and send them on their way to a 7-1 win over the Brockville Tikis in a Central Canada Hockey League Tier 2 game Wednesday night at the Memorial Centre.
The Rideaus outshot the Tikis 43-12 in the game, including 16-2 in the first period when, despite that advantage, they found themselves trailing on Mclean Nass's power-play goal in his first game with the Tikis.
Westport scored early and often in the second, with Johnny Moor opening the floodgates just 66 seconds into the period. Blake Kettyle, Wyatt Villalta, Jesse Robertson and Adam scored scored in the next 10:22 to put the game away.
Corey Symington and Michael Anson added third-period goals to complete the scoring.
The win was Westport's sixth in its past seven games and kept the third-place Rideaus (18-12-1-0 for 27 points) two points ahead of the fourth-place Arnprior Packers (17-12-1-0) in the Richardson Division.
Brockville lost for the 11th straight time and completed December with eight losses in as many games. The Tikis were outscored 54-12 in the month, and have been outgunned 72-18 in their past 11 games.
