Callaghan opened the game’s scoring when he found the back of the net with just over a minute left in the second period. The rookie forward now has a team-high 18 goals for the Tikis.

Ottawa tied the game midway through the third period, which was the only blemish against Brockville goalie Curtis Stewart’s performance.

Stewart finished the night making 43 saves, 32 of those split by the opening two periods. The Tikis finished with 26 shots.

The win is a nice one for morale for Brockville, who have put together one of their best stretches of the season by beating the Prescott Flyers and then upsetting the Athens Aeros before taking down the Canadians.

The victory also moved the Tikis up the standings for the first time in a longtime as they now pass the Prescott Flyers in the standings to take sixth place in the Richardson Division.

The Tikis will travel to Athens on Saturday to take on the Aeros.
