Pacers Win Hope Opener

Date:  Source: Sarnia Pacers

After dropping their season opener in Windsor this past Saturday by a score of 16-9, the Pacers seemed determined to not let this one get away.  Jimmy Purves opened the scoring just 9 seconds in getting the large home town crowd into the game.  Although London would tie the game about 6 minutes later, that was the closest the Blue Devils would get.  Each time London appeared to get close, the Pacers would respond with a goal or two.  One the most timely ones was scored when the Sarnia was down a man late in the third period.  With Purves off for slashing and the Blue Devils down by one, Lance Ross picked off a pass in his own end, sprinted down the length of the floor and potted his second goal of the evening, securing the win.
