The La Crosse Freeze had trouble finding ways to stop the Nashville Jr. Predators, which beat Freeze, 4-0.

Colton Anderson was all over the ice for Nashville, as he finished with two goals in the win. Anderson scored at 4:57 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Nashville and again while 14:03 into the second to make the score 3-0 Nashville.

La Crosse's power play was ineffective against the Jr. Predators' penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

Nashville's penalty box was a popular destination as the team totaled seven minors and one major for 29 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 15.0 minutes per game the Jr. Predators had been spending in the box. Nashville put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Freeze to score on any of their nine power plays. The Jr. Predators forced La Crosse goalie Cameron Scheuren to work between the pipes, taking 38 shots.

Others who scored for Nashville included Noah Keener and Nick Mammel, who each put in one. More assists for Nashville came via Jacob Lainesse, who had one and Matiss Gelazis and Trent Kulczyk, who each chipped in two.

The Freeze's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Nashville power plays. La Crosse could not produce up to its normal offensive output. The Freeze put an average of 3.3 pucks into the net per game.

Nashville took out Justin Ball after he had made seven saves and installed Nathan Klebe in goal, where he finished with 21 saves and the win. For the Jr. Predators, Jon Evans was ejected from the game. La Crosse's Scheuren stopped 34 shots out of the 37 that he faced. The Freeze incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
