Luscombe, Pollice dominate Pelham, lead Ancaster to 9-6 win

Behind one goal and three assists from Blake Luscombe and one goal and three assists from Michael Pollice, the Ancaster Avalanche downed the Pelham Panthers 9-6.

Luscombe scored 7:15 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Ancaster. Michael Faliero picked up the assist. Pollice scored 7:15 into the first period to make the score 3-1 Ancaster. Luscombe provided the assist.

Ancaster forced Pelham goalie Tynan Lauziere to work between the pipes, taking 47 shots. The Avalanche surpassed their usual scoring output this season. Ancaster has scored at the pace of 3.4 goals per game during the current campaign.

Ancaster additionally got points from Lucas Triemstra, who also grabbed one goal and four assists to lead the team in points, Pollice, who also finished with one goal and three assists, Ryan Knill, who also had one goal and one assist, and Ryan Cox, who also registered one goal and one assist. Ancaster also had goals scored by Lucas Pozzobon, who had two and Spencer Leenders and Owen Burnell, who scored one goal each. More assists for Ancaster came via William Kelly, who had one and Ben Hughes, who had two.

The Panthers stifled the Avalanche's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Pelham kept Ancaster's goalie busy throughout the game, and Matt Calas made 25 saves on 31 shots. The Panthers' goal total was higher than their season average. This season, Pelham averages 2.4 goals per contest.

The Panthers were helped by Riley Quesnelle, who tallied two goals. Quesnelle scored the first of his two goals at 19:29 into the first period to make the score 5-3 Ancaster. Jake DeMaeyer picked up the assist. Quesnelle's next tally made the score 6-4 Ancaster with 8:47 left in the second period. Shawn Rooke provided the assist. Pelham also got points from Rooke, who also tallied one goal and two assists and Riley O Connell, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Pelham included Daniel Volpatti and Thomas Young, who each put in one. In addition, Pelham received assists from Brock Ackerman, who had three and Anthony Sorrentino, who had four.

The Avalanche incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Lauziere rejected 38 shots on goal for Pelham. The Panthers incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors.
