The Caledonia Corvairs had a six-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to an 8-1 win over the St. Catharines Falcons.
Todd Ratchford was all over the ice for Caledonia, as he tallied one goal and two assists in the win. Ratchford scored on the power play 11:26 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Caledonia. A cross checking penalty on Nick Halagian had put the Corvairs on the power play. Connor Patton picked up the assist.
St. Catharines was stymied by Caledonia's netminder Brendan Polasek, who stopped 27 shots during the victory. The solid play of Polasek will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 1.14.
