Florida Eels Forwards Show an Insatiable
Appetite to Win with Their Aggressive Drive to The Net.
The Florida Eels Elite Junior program expects to return to form this year with explosive offense from our forwards - with the return of
Key Veteran forwards such as 6' 4" Shilo Vega was amongst the USPHL Elite scoring leaders with 23 goals and 29 assist. Also returning is top forward Jonathan Carlson who was heavily recruited by NAHL teams. Last season Carlson scored 9 goals and 20 assists. Also returning is high energy forward Josh Delezene who had 14 goals and 12 assist. Two seasons ago he was amongst the Empire leading goal scorers with 30+ goals and as many assist. Also expecting to be a huge scorer this year is the return of forward Kade Brannon who is coming off injuries from last year. Despite his low numbers Kade is a big time power forward who is expected to put up some serious numbers this season.
The Eels are extremely excited to have added to this group of veteran snipers is forward Jeff O'Dea who last season for Belle Tire Midget Major AAA Select team in 45 games scored 26 goals and ratcheted 22 Assist. Also joining the power group of forwards is Garrett Wood who played last season in the MnJHL where he scored 7 goals and 15 assist. Wood has been on fire at the Eels preseason camp where in two scrimmage games he accounted for 2 goals and 4 assist. Moving up from the Eels extremely talented Empire team to the Eels Elite squad are forwards Clayton Boyd with 17 goals and 17 assist and Zac Boyle with 14 goals and 17 assist. The two young men Empire League All Stars and were amongst the Empire league goal scorers.
On the Empire side returning forward goal scorers are Christof Pontasch With 13 goals and 17 assist and forward Jordan Court with 13 goals and 20 assist. It is much too early to tell where these two boys will end out this year but rest assure they will be pushing their fellow Eels this season. These two boys will definitely be challenging their Elite players for spots this season.
That is key to the success of the Eels program. Our players compete every day for positions and roster spots. This is how players learn to get to the Next Level. You cannot be complacent or think you are entitled to a roster spot or a line or playing that weekend. In college as well as in the pros, players need to compete every practice, every shift and every game. There are too many players out there and you must be hungrier, more determined, more
dedicated and more committed each and every day!
We expect returning Veterans Michael Kobus, Hank Bill, Nick Guidry and Dylan Kaufman to take a leadershiprole and aggressively attack the net. They are college bound and very hungry this year to make their own mark. We expect some serious numbers from these boys. New players also expected to take over as top scorers are Gonzalo Ruiz an extremely skilled forward who played in Austria last season will turn many heads, as will veteran TJ Clingerman, from the Met Junior Hockey League who is quick and extremely determined with heart and the insatiable appetite to win and an equally determined Travus Bruss who played for Team Oregon last season. He brings great size and skill set to this team.
