Both Games Cut Short Due to Rain. Mustangs and Falcons End Game in 2-2 Tie.

            The Mustangs Joshua Hibbard (Hesston College) got off to a good start, throwing 4 hitless innings before allowing 2 runs in the bottom of the 5th. Jose Hernandez (St. Johns River State) and Lance Mansfield (Florida Memorial University) both hit singles to lead off the inning and would later come around to score the Falcons only 2 runs because of Sjahbar Martis’ (Monroe Community College) double. Kevin Vlatos (Webber International University) started for the Falcons and gave up 2 runs from RBI off the bat of Nicholas Gallo (Palm Beach State) in the 3rd and Matthew Williams (Palm Beach State) in the 5th. The game was cut short after 5 innings due to inclement weather conditions and finished in a 2-2 tie.

Mavs Score 2 Runs in Bottom of the 5th to Pull Off Comeback Over Rangers.

            The Mavericks and Rangers each scored 1 run in the first inning to get things started. Kyle Kalbaugh (St. Johns River State) started on the mound for the Rangers, went 4 2/3 innings, striking out 7 batters and giving up 2 earned runs. The Rangers scored 1 run in the 4th and 5th inning to take the 3-2 lead over the Mavericks, heading into the bottom of the 5th. The Mavs lead off with back-to-back singles by Hunter Seales (Navarro Community College) and Joseph Varela (Northwood University), then both would eventually score off the game-winning double hit by Mason Eng (Grayson Community College) to take the lead 4-3. Dylan Demarest (Embry Riddle Aero University) pitched 5 strong innings only allowing 2 earned runs off of 5 hits. The Rangers Shane Swanson (Daytona State College) and Blake Summers (Daytona State College) both posted 2 hits on the day. The game was then called due to inclement weather conditions.
