The Falcons would then score 1 run in the 5th inning to narrow the lead to 5-2, after Malik Fogg (Tompkins Cortland C.C.) tripled and Chris Ervin (Alabama Southern) drove him in with a single. Later the Mavs tacked on 2 more runs from bases-loaded walks to Hunter Seales (Navarro C.C.) and Cameron Davis (Jefferson Davis C.C.). GAME 2: Falcons Take 2nd Game Over Mavs, Thanks to Luke Heyer’s Impressive Outing.

Falcons were able to bounce back from their loss in Game 1 and get the victory in Game 2, thanks in big part to their starting pitcher, Luke Heyer (College of Central Florida). Heyer took a no-hitter into the 6th inning, until Bobby Tarnapoll (Linfield College) singled to right field. Heyer would go on to give up 3 hits, 0 runs and record an impressive 12 K’s to lead the Falcons into 1st place in the JUCO league. The Mavs starter Samuel Galindo, (Southeastern Univ.) also had a good outing, finishing with 6 innings, 4 hits, 3runs and 4 K’s, but it wasn’t enough to defeat the Falcons.
