Doug Aften Signs With Daniel Webster College
Aften will take his game to New Hampshire this fall where he will play for Daniel Webster in their inaugural year of playing NCAA hockey. It will be a great honor for Doug in laying down the building blocks for what is sure to be a very successful hockey program. Aften had came to the Eels for his final year of junior hockey elidgability, knowing just what General Manager Scarpaci would do for his players. In fact for the organizations last year players (93’ birth year) the Eels would like to proudly announce 100% will be moving on to play NCAA hockey in the fall. “This is what its about” Scarpaci says, “players come and spend good money to play juniors. Its to follow their dreams in playing NCAA hockey. We as a staff will do anything in our power to get our players to their dreams.”
The versatile forward/defenseman Doug Aften played a big role for the Eels this season. He was able to do something most could never do as a junior hockey player, adapt. Not only did he adapt to a new country, language and team; Aften played both defense and forward for the Eels this season. The Eagles coaching staff will be luck in obtaining such a versatile piece to their team this fall.
