SCOUTING STAFF ATTENDS MR MR HOCKEY SHOWCASE

The Eels scouting staff has just arrived back home from attending the MR MR Hockey Showcase in Madison, Wisconsin. Eels General Manager Frank Scarpaci was “impressed with the amount of junior capable players.  The showcase had a good mix of younger and older junior age players.  No one seemed to look out of place which is always a good sign when attending these showcases. We feel that there’s a good chance to grab some quality players from there”

In just a few short years, the MR MR Showcase has placed over 100 players in college and juniors.  The smaller showcase style allowed for a higher bar of compotation.  The tournament managers take pride in hand selecting just who is allowed to participate in this showcase.

This has been a busy start to the offseason for the Eels staff as they have already attended showcases in Indianapolis and Pittsburgh. “ We are in no way close to being done.  We want the best team we’ve ever had to put on an Eels jersey next year.  We still have work to do,” says Scarpaci.  The Eels will continue making their rounds scouting for a majority of the off season.
