Red Knights Shut Down Orono 14-0

Orono, MN - The Benilde-St. Margaret’s Red Knights turned aside the challenge for the Orono Spartans by a score of 14-0 in a defensive tussle at Orono High School on Friday.  The Red Knights scored on pair of Tommy Anderson touchdown passes to Tommy Wolfe in the third quarter snapping a scoreless deadlock that held up in the tightly contested district match-up.

The Spartans (1-1) shut down the Red Knights ground game holding them to just 8 yards rushing for the entire game.  It was a different story when it came to the passing attack for the Red Knights as three different quarterbacks combined for 275 yards passing, Tino Fialo (6-14-55), Tommy Anderson (6-8-166-2td), and Nick Peterson (5-12-54-1int) all contributed to the Red Knight victory.

Turner Winne hauled in 4 passes for the Red Knights and gained 109 yards receiving.  Wolve (4-49-2td), and John Landray (4-48) also caught four passes to lead the Red Knights in that category.

On the defensive side of the ball The Red Knights (2-0) were as equally effective as the Spartans and held Orono to just 59 yards on 26 carries.  The only allowed 173 yards passing to Orono’s Nick Prentice and Chad Mrachek.  

The Red Knights Ikenn Ujuagu and John Whitmore each registered 9 tackles and a sack for the Red Knights.  In all the B-SM pass rush delivered 6 sacks with Patrick Kalb (2), Landry, and Braeden Fitzgerald all getting to the Orono quarterbacks.
