Vasquez, 26, came into his own in 2014, becoming a Frontier League All-Star in his second season in Schaumburg. The lefty slugger’s 106 hits paced the Boomers while his .312 batting average was ninth best in the league. Vasquez added seven home runs and 49 RBI’s in his breakout season.
The outfielder was acquired in a 2013 late-season trade with the Frontier Greys that proved to be crucial for the Boomers first title run. In 14 games in a Boomers uniform after being acquired, Vasquez hit .333 with four doubles and a triple while stabilizing the Schaumburg outfield.
The Palm City, Florida native continued that success in the ’13 playoffs with a .333 average and team-leading seven runs over the six-game run to the title.
