Panthersville, GA – Mason Walker hit two home runs to lead the Choccolocco Monsters (18-8) in their 9-3 victory over the Atlanta Blues (9-17) at the GSU Baseball Complex on Wednesday.

Walker hit a solo shot to lead off the second inning and a two-run blast in the sixth to cap a 3-for-5 performance.

Taylor Harris also managed three hits in all three at-bats with two RBI, and Hugh Windle went 2-for-4 at the plate.

Rob Gordon went 2-for-2 with one RBI to lead Atlanta, and Dylan Jones and Vernon Clay drove in one run each.

Choccolocco starter Dawson Campbell (3-1) pitched five innings and allowed just two runs on seven hits with one walk and six strikeouts to earn the win. Will Baker added three scoreless, hitless relief innings with three strikeouts to just one walk. Kimani Davis (1-3) absorbed the loss.

Trailing 1-0, the Monsters tied the game on Walkers’s solo home run in the second and took the lead with three runs in the third. The Blues responded with one run on a base-hit by Dylan Jones in the fourth before Choccolocco pulled away for good with four runs in the sixth and one in the seventh.

Both teams will return to action on Friday, July 19. The Monsters will host the Alpharetta Aviators at 8:05 p.m., and the Blues will host the Atlanta Crackers at 7:05 p.m.
