Atlanta Crackers go 2-0 to start the season, after a powerful doubleheader last night, May 31st, against the Atlanta Astros.

The Crackers standouts Landon Armstrong hit .667 with a double and two RBIs, and Tanner Patterson drove in four runs on three hits. Kaleb Huffman also made the most of his plate appearances, tallying a team-high five RBIs.

“I’m excited for the season, we [Atlanta Crackers] have got some good guys, and hope to win it all.” shares Patterson when asked about the season ahead.

The team totaled 29 hits and 20 RBIs over the 14-inning series, to pull out a 16-6 win the first game and a 13-3 win the second game. One game down, and the Crackers are already making noise in the league, being one of three teams to go 2-0 opening weekend.

Victor Junco, of the Atlanta Astros, delivered a bomb for the offense with a two-run home run and three RBIs, while Ethan Adams paced the team with two hits and two runs scored.

Overall, the lineup struggled to string hits together, batting just .197 as a team and falling short despite a handful of solid individual efforts. But if this early performance of the Astros is any indication of their potential, it’s only a matter of time before everything clicks. With 26 games left in the regular season, there's plenty of time to regroup and rise to the top.
