Waleska, GA-- The Waleska Wild Things defeated the Brookhaven Bucks 6-5 in thrilling fashion in the bottom of the ninth inning with CJ Robertson’s walk-off RBI single that brought Logan Floyd across the plate to earn the victory and split the series between the two teams.

The Wild Things improved to 14-12 while the Bucks dropped to 7-18.

A quiet first seven innings gave the Wild Things a 2-1 lead heading into the eighth inning, where the offenses would finally each come alive. In the top of the eighth, the Bucks tied the game up on Caden Long’s RBI double that plated Ty Petrovich. However, the Bucks weren’t done, adding two more runs, one on the Luke Miller RBI single and another on the Drewbie Pinkston bunt that brought Miller home after a series of errors. The Bucks' lead was 4-1 heading to the bottom of the eighth.

The Wild Things had an answer in the bottom of the eighth, scoring three runs. The first scored on an RBI walk earned from Cayden Sheffield and then Tanner Jones’ fielder's-choice scored two after an error. Heading to the ninth, the Wild Things had earned the lead back, winning 5-4.

The Bucks wouldn’t go away quietly, tying the game on Petrovich’s RBI single. Petrovich finished the game 4-4 with one double and one RBI.

However, the Bucks couldn’t add any more runs, and the Wild Things acted quickly in the bottom half, securing the win. Logan Floyd led off the bottom of the ninth with a triple, leaving Robertson to officially close the game when he laced the walk off single into left field.

Robertson finished 2-4 with one RBI and a triple.

Starting pitcher Luke Manry got a no-decision for the Bucks, going seven innings, giving up two earned runs on six hits, striking out four. Despite the blown save, Wesley Moore received the win for the Wild Things, pitching one inning of one-run ball on two hits.

The Bucks, already eliminated from the playoffs, will return home to end their season against the Cartersville Cannons, while the Wild Things, currently the No. 4 seed, will travel to play the Gainseville GolDiggers, who are tied for the No. 1 seed.
