Monarchs Name New Home For 2025
Date: Apr 23, 2024
On June 21, 2023, the Alaska Goldpanners will host the 118th Midnight Sun Baseball Game. The “high noon at midnight” classic is played entirely without the use of artificial light. The Midnight Sun Game is a Fairbanks tradition that dates back to 1906 as a bar bet between the Eagle’s Club and the California Bar, led by Eddie Stroecker, “Father of the Midnight Sun Game." Though the game is played through the hour of midnight, artificial lights are never used — and have never been used in the history of the event. This year, the Goldpanners take on the Michigan Monarchs. Gates open at 8 PM and the first pitch is set for 10 PM. Bring your sunglasses, grab a seat, and join fans from all over the world to witness this "ever so rare" event. Hope to see you at the ballpark, and we'll leave the sunlight on for you!
The Midnight Sun Game is part of a five game series against the Alaska Goldpanners from June 20th - 24th
