Monarchs Win In Late Rally

Date:  Source: Michigan Monarchs

The Monarchs traveled to Sandusky last evening hoping to keep their second-half surge alive taking on the Ice Haulers at Sports Force Park a place that has not been kind to the Narchs in 2022.

Trailing by 4 in the bottom of the 8th the offense came alive to help starting pitcher Keaton Ballard who had given Michigan a solid start but had been foiled by several defensive miscues and one bad pitch (a 2-run homer) that resulted in a 4-run deficit.

Three 8th inning runs set the stage for a dramatic 9th rally lead by Sandyn Cuthrell and Tyler Nelson who drove in the winning runs with a 2-run single to left giving the Monarchs a 5-4 win and cutting the Magic Number to clinch the North Division to #5.

The final game of the series is this evening at 7 PM Carson Caudill will start, hoping to send the Monarchs into the All-Star break on a high note and extend the winning streak and the division lead before heading back to Adrian for a DH against the Richmond Jazz on 7/14.
