ADRIAN, MI.: The Michigan Monarchs received phenomenal pitching from LHP Jack White, LHP Andy Cook, and LHP Dominic Puccetti to snap a four-game skid, avenge a loss earlier this week, and defeat Jet Box Baseball Club, 3-1, at Siena Heights Baseball Field on Saturday night.

White (1-0) set the tempo for the evening by firing six scoreless innings, allowing just one walk and three hits while fanning seven.

Cook threw the seventh inning as part of his mid-week bullpen session. A couple Monarchs miscues right away put two runners on base against him. Nick Arrivo delivered with a sacrifice fly to plate Daniel Warkentin.  After a single by Ryan Lux, Cook settled down to get out of the frame and keep the tying run on the bases.

Puccetti struck out four and surrendered just one hit and one walk to register the two-inning save. He stranded runners at the corners in the eighth. He set the Jet Box down in order in the ninth.

White got the run support he needed to earn the victory in the fifth. An error from Jet Box shortstop Nate Brooks extended the frame when he booted a grounder hit by Luke Tanner. After Nelson Padilla and Hunter DeLanoy walked to load the bases full of Monarchs, a wild pitch from LHP Cole Daniels brought in the first run of the game.  Cade Sullivan then delivered with a clutch two-run single to extend the margin to 3-0.

Daniels (0-2) permitted three unearned runs, three hits, four walks, and notched three strikeouts over six strong innings. RHP Brenden Oprinski worked out of a jam in the seventh and kept the Monarchs off the board over six outs.

This was the last game that Dominic Clementi managed the ball club. He is moving on to a new and exciting opportunity that will soon be announced. Pitching Coach Bryan Liriano and Owner and Coach Jim DeSana will continue in leadership roles for the Monarchs as the season continues.
