AMES, I.A. — The Minot State, Iowa State rivalry goes back 25 years. The two storied programs have put on thrillers many times in the past. The game Saturday night didn’t disappoint. It featured back and forth action with leads changing hands throughout the night. In the third both teams ran into a goaltending battle between the Cyclone’s Moon and the Beaver’s Wallace. It went into overtime 2-2. The Beavers had two breakaway chances to no avail in the extra frame. In the shootout, it went 6 rounds. The Beavers got goals from Nick Doyle and Blake Fournier. It came down to Freshman goaltender Riley Wallace making a big save to earn the victory.
“I am proud of our boys.” Said Head Coach Wade Regier. “Iowa State is very talented and very well coached. They always play tough at home. We found away to win on the road and we will take it.”

The Beavers will now turn their focus into next weekends rivalry matchup with Jamestown. The Beavers head to Jamestown on Friday and return home on Saturday for the first home game in over a month.
