CHESTERFIELD, M.O. — The Cinderella national championship run came to an abrupt end in a 6-1 loss to eventual champion Adrian College. A run, that included a win over the top ranked Lindenwood Lions and 4th ranked Liberty University. 
 

The Bulldogs got off to a hot start scoring just six minutes into the game. The Beavers would find the equalizer two minutes later on the powerplay on a deflection goal from Adam Wowryk, as both teams skated to a 1-1 tie after the first. In the second, the fresh Bulldogs, only skating in their third game in three nights got two goals midway through the period, to give them the 3-1 one lead. In the third, the Beavers couldn’t find the back of the net. The Bulldogs would add a 4th goal late, then add two more goals, including an empty netter for their second championship in program history. Sophomore Chad Duran would make 35 saves.
