Player of the Week - Trey Martin, San Diego Force/Bluefield College

San Diego Force IF Trey Martin took home SCCBL Player of the Week honors, hitting .368 (7-19) with six runs scored, six runs batted in, four walks and four stolen bases. Collecting at least one hit in all of the Force’s contests this week, Martin currently owns a nine-game hit streak and has reached base safely in 20 of 26 games played this summer. Primarily splitting time at shortstop and third base, Martin now leads the Force with 17 RBIs on the year.

Pitcher of the Week - Jonathan Buckley, Palm Springs Power/St. Mary’s

Palm Springs Power rightly Jonathan Buckley claimed SCCBL Pitcher of the Week honors after a dominant start against the Riverside Bulldogs, earning his third win on the season by firing seven four-hit, one-run innings while walking only one and setting nine Bulldogs down on strikes. Buckley improved his record to 3-0 and lowered his ERA to 1.08, the second-best mark in the SCCBL. The Junior righthander’s nine strikeouts also bring his season total to 41, tied with the Force’s Ryan Losman for the most in the league.
