Donnie Roethler and Frank Lopez helped lead the San Diego Force to a 5-1 week, including a perfect 4-0 start to SCCBL play this week to earn SCCBL weekly honors.

Player of the Week – Donnie Roethler, San Diego Force/Southwest Baptist University

Donnie Roethler led the San Diego Force to five wins this week, batting .500 (11-22) including a triple and two home runs. He totaled 10 runs scored in six games, knocking in five runs, and swiped four bags. In the first game of the season, Roethler went 3-4 against a hot Bulldogs team with a home run and two RBI. In the 4-3 win over the Pirates, the rising senior drew four walks and scored a run. He recorded multi-hit games in the final three games of the week. Against the Saints, Roethler with 2-4 with a home run and three runs scored. In the twin bill with the Bulldogs, he collected six hits with a 4-4 performance in game one including an RBI triple. Going 2-5 in game two, Roethler scored the winning run in the walk-off win. In the six games, he has tallied a slash line of .500/.864/.571.

Pitcher of the Week – Frank Lopez, San Diego Force

Frank Lopez dazzled on the mound for the Force, earning two wins in two starts. Both came against the Riverside Bulldogs, with Lopez going 13 innings and tallying 10 strikeouts while allowing just five hits. In the June 5 win, he went six innings and gave up just one hit while striking out four. On June 10, Lopez went a solid seven innings, striking out six. He surrendered one earned run on the week for an ERA of 0.69.
