Michael Colella Commits to Colorado College
Date: Nov 4, 2018
Virtua Hockey alum Eric Robinson (’95) has signed a two year, entry-level contract with the Columbus Blue Jackets to start his professional hockey career. He will be joining the team on their current road trip and expected to dress for the rest of the regular season for the Blue Jackets as they fight for playoff positioning.
Eric recently finished a fantastic college career at Princeton University. Eric served as captain of the Tigers and led the team to an ECAC tournament championship and a berth in the NCAA Division I Tournament. Eric scored 17 goals this season, which was third on the team. During his four seasons at Princeton he played in 128 games and totaled 39 goals and 28 assists for 67 points.
Eric played in our program from the Bantam level through Midget 18U. Following his time with the Virtua Hockey program, he played one season for the Dubuque Fighting Saints in the USHL before enrolling at Princeton.
Eric went undrafted in the NHL draft, but signed as an undrafted free agent. He is the second Virtua Hockey alum to sign with a NHL team this month, with Nolan Stevens signing with the St. Louis Blues.
Congratulations to Eric on a great collegiate career and best of luck as you begin your professional career!
