Game One Recaps | Perth and OJC Win Games one
F | Perth 5, Casselman 2 | PER leads series 1-0
Perth made a statement in game 1 after scoring three times in the 3rd period. Casselman did get the first goal from Carter Malette on the PP to make it 1-0 but Perth responded with a power play goal of their own from Marc-Andre Leblanc to tie it at 1. Casselman went on a 5 on 3 PP and David capitalized to get their second lead of the game.
Mack Miller would score shorthanded to make things interesting going to the 3rd period. Perth exploded in the final 10 minutes and would score twice, 30 seconds apart from Olmstead and Laird. Baggio would add the dagger to put Game 1 away. Baggio had 1G/2A while Laird had 1G/1A. Currie added 2 assists and Cloutier as well. Casselman outshot Perth 30-27 in Game 1
Game 2 goes Wednesday night in Perth Arena at 8:00.
F | Ottawa 3, Carleton Place 1 | OJC leads Series 1-0
Despite CP outshooting OJC 33-18. Ottawa got all the bounces to a Game 1 victory over Carleton Place. It’s the second time that Carleton Place has lost Game 1 of their opening series. Andre Giordano had the opening goal in the 1st but then CP would answer in the 2nd period by Ryland Mosley.
It would be the only goal for CP as Mateo Belanger scored the game winning goal plus added an assist on the first goal. Declan Hilton would put the game away with an EN goal to win the game. Ryan Whitehurst made 32 saves in win.
Game two goes Friday night in Carleton Place at 7:45.
